Deux jours de fête,
Le samedi 1er juin et dimanche 2 juin : à partir de 10h, visites des sites où furent cachés 152 aviateurs alliés,
Exposition, cinéma de campagne, stand de radio amateur avec des liaisons radio et un indicatif spécial pour cette cérémonie.
En soirée le samedi à partir de 19h : Bal populaire, repas champêtre.
Dimanche 2 juin à partir de 15h : Grande commémoration du souvenir, parachutismes des sept nations, à 17h, passage d’avions d’époque.

La fête se situe sur la commune de Villebout au nord du Loir-et-Cher et à la limite de l’Eure-et-Loir à 5kms de Cloyes, 25kms de Vendôme et de Chateaudun.

La Résistance pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale porte ses petites et grandes histoires.
Peu connue du public, celle des 152 aviateurs alliés cachés entre mai et août 1944 en Loir-et-Cher dans le bois de Bellande adjacent à la forêt de Fréteval, commune de Villebout.
Ce qui fait aussi la particularité de cette histoire, c’est la présence concomitante dans la forêt d’un lieu de stockage très important de munitions de l’armée allemande.
Fait exceptionnel aussi, tous en sortiront indemnes. Ces pilotes et hommes d’équipage sont de nationalités différentes, américaine, sud-africaine, australienne, canadienne, anglaise, belge et néo-zélandaise. En août 1944, certains d’entre eux rentreront dans leur pays d’origine, d’autres rejoindront l’Angleterre pour repartir au combat.
Une stèle a été érigée en 1967 pour honorer cette action de résistance, ce qui en fait certainement l’unique monument aux vivants.

The Resistance during the Second World War includes stories both big and small.
A story little known by the public is that of the 152 Allied airmen hidden between May and August 1944 in Loir-et-Cher, in the wooded area of Bellande part of the Forest of Fréteval, near Villebout.
What is amazing about this story is the presence in the forest of a very large stock of munitions for the German Army!
It is also exceptional that all of the Airmen came out unscathed. The Airmen were of different nationalities: there were 65 Americans, 39 English, 27 Canadians plus Australians, South Africans and others. In August 1944, some of them returned to their country of origin, whilst others went back to England to continue the fight.
The monument was erected in 1967 to honour this event, one of the few memorials to the living.
